Rich, sweet flavor fruit is smooth with a fiber free texture. The Honan Red persimmon is excellent for fresh eating or drying. When fully ripe no sense of puckering unless consuming the core which retains a bit of astringency. Heavy producing and astringent until ripe. Fruit ripens by October. Produces very few, if any, seeds. Introduced to the states in 1917
