The input signal is split up, with one half going into a VCA, and the other half going into a sidechain rollercoaster. First its phase is modulated, before a full ring modulation, creating a signal at twice the frequency. This signal then modulates the amplitude of the original, creating complex self distortions. That output goes into a dual band drive
