Handpainted Balsa Wood Nativity Set wood carving Sugars (golden can sugar)This unique three piece nativity is created by a cooperative of artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. It's hand carved with a machete, and painted with colorful detail. Artisans use sustainably harvested balsa wood and non toxic acrylic paint. Artisans at Women of the Cloud Forest have direct, long term trade relationships. They work with small family workshops and cooperatives across Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru.
