🌸 Peonies in Light portrait the northernmost province of ItalyThis piece was created during a flower painting course with the wonderful artist Sophie Knight, where the focus was on capturing delicacy, luminosity, and the ephemeral nature of petals. Working in soft pastels, I pushed myself outside my usual approach. Instead of building depth and contrast early my normal instinct I had to start much lighter, laying down translucent, almost weightless layers to express the fragility and softness of peonies. Every
