Famille Heraud Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie 'Clos des Perrieres', Loire, 2021 Bartolo Mascarello cedar wood and earth notesThis wine uses Melon Blanc (or Melon de Bourgogne), a cross between Pinot Blanc and Gouais Blanc. It is used almost exclusively to produce dry white wine from Muscadet Svre et Maine, the best known of the Muscadet appellations of the Loire Valley's Pays Nantais district. Make no mistake: this is not to be confused with the sweeter, notoriously aromatic Muscat variety it is crisp and dry, pairing wonderfully with salmon, oysters, scallops and shrimp.
