Crown Imperial Watercolour Study Rome with two legs on eachPainted during my Painting Flowers lesson at the Conservatoire with artist Sophie Knight, this watercolour depicts the bold and elegant Crown Imperial flower (Fritillaria imperialis). It is based on a photograph by an artist whose name I do not know, and this painting is my personal and humble interpretation of that image. The fluid brushwork and vibrant tones aim to capture the flowers regal presence, blending strength and delicacy in equal measure.
