While we are still in the early days of the GLP-one medications for weight loss (and we dont know the longer-term effects of higher doses), its heartening to know that patients have been taking these medications, albeit at a relatively lower dose, for many years to treat diabetes, and they have been well tolerated
Any adverse effects from GLP-1 medicationsincluding persistent nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or signs of pancreatitisshould prompt immediate contact with a healthcare professional, regardless of how the medication was obtained
