Tobaccos medicinal properties seem quite aggressive its considered a sedative, diuretic, expectorant, discutient, and sialagogue, and internally only as an emetic, when all other emetics fail (Botanical.com) but I suppose there is place for these actions too in some cases, as long as it is used appropriately and with caution
