Most were very expensive, colorful and involved a great deal of skillful artisanship. This scarf has subtle gradation of colors (bokashi) where the pink fades into the blue and the violet, gold leaf stenciling, gold outlining, metallic painted flowers, and hand painted designs (yuzen). Many, many hours were spent decorating the kimono from which this scarf
