From Columbus, Ohio, Barbara Wood is a painter of modernist figures, especially females, and genre scenes, and for much of her subject matters, draws on her own life of raising three children. She also does lithography. She was raised in Columbus by her mother, grandmother and great grandmother and never knew her father. Her mother spent her weekdays working, which meant
