Fresh out of the service, Johnny Kilroy (Cooper) plans to attend Benson College but is denied admission when it's discovered he's half a credit short. So when his pal Pappy (Coogan) spreads word that Johnny is the famed "Kilroy was here" hero himself, the publicity gets him into Benson and the school's
