Fowley uses incantatory anaphora to enact endless transformations, becoming by turns a motley, plume lit teacher creature and a bear longing, like a bro, for a maiden in a tree. Drawing inspiration from Brothers Grimm fairy tales and troubadour tradition, Fowleys
