It comes from Colares, a tiny seaside enclave near Lisbon where ungrafted old vines grow right in the sand dunes some of the few in Europe to survive the phylloxera plague. It's happy with grilled meats, pasta and hearty, comforting food. Serve it at cool room temperature.
