There has been only six minor remodels in over 50 years to the 911 and two major remodels. The original 911 referred to as the Pre impact or Longhood lasted until 1973. In 1974 they added impact bumpers for the U. S. and their stricter safety regulation, which is why these cars are referred to as impact bumper cars. The car was still a very similar car
